Rain Tree Crow - Blackwater

This was an attempt to get the seminal New Wave band Japan back together in 1991, which was only somewhat successful. They released this, a truly gorgeous album, but nothing else.

Beauty such as this is rare to find in this world, so enjoy it when you can.

Bourgeois Tagg - Mutual Surrender

Does anyone else even remember this band?

The Fixx - Are We Ourselves?

Two questions:
A) Do you remember when this song really meant a lot to you? Either this one or Secret Separation?
B) Seriously, were they being groomed to be Duran Duran wannabes, or was that a personal choice?

Joe Jackson - Real Men

Every boy should be forced to listen to and understand this song. Maybe write a paper about it.

Michael Penn - No Myth

Marie and I were just discussing this evening, you don't hear this song often enough.

Shona Laing - (Glad I'm) Not A Kennedy

I actually prefer Soviet Snow as a song, but the video for it BITES. Besides, I like the reference, given how few Kennedys there are left.

The Smiths - There Is a Light That Never Goes Out

This song reminds me of summertime, and youth, and fireworks.

Rainmakers - Small Circles

One of the best descriptions of young love I've ever heard, from a VASTLY underrated band.

Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays

The Jam - Going Underground

The braying sheep on my TV screen
Make this boy shout, make this boy scream!
