E Nomine - Vater Unser
A gothy/industrial version of the Lord's Prayer, in German and Latin. How could you go wrong?

Cobra Starship - Snakes on a Plane
The song is OK, but if you notice, about 2/3 of the way thru, Samuel L Jackson (who is cooler than any 3 guys you know put together) is sitting there reading. What is he reading? 100 Bullets: Strychnine Lives

Bob Marley - War
The words for this song were taken, almost entirely, from a speech Haile Selassie gave to the United Nations.

The Pogues & The Dubliners - Irish Rover
A few years ago, I found out that I'm 1/4 Irish. Don't ask how I didn't know that before. Anyway, ever since I learned that, I've been tempted to drink mass quantities, sing like Shane MacGowan, and get a Sinn Fein tattoo. Thank God I've only done 2 of them.

Subway to Sally - Ohne Liebe
Another example of Medieval Rock, this one a little more typical of the genre.

Meryn Cadell - The Sweater
I probably listened to this album about 1000 times when it came out. Bought 3 copies of it, I listened to the tape so much.
Letzte Instanz - Wir Sind Allien
I recently became entranced with this new sound out of Germany, frequently called Medieval Rock. Letzte Instanz is one of the practitioners of it, although they go fairly far afield sometimes. Schandmaul is probably more representative of the sound.

Michael Penn - No Myth
Marie and I were just discussing this evening, you don't hear this song often enough.

B.B. King & Tracy Chapman - The Thrill is Gone
I've always enjoyed Tracy Chapman. I figured out a while ago that she sings in a very traditional blues manner, but (and this is important) she sings it like a man. It really works well for her. And, of course, BB is, well, BB.

Meat Loaf - I Would Do Anything For Love
A lot of people complained about this song, the chorus specifically. They said it doesn't make sense: "I would do anything for love, but I won't do that." What is that, people would ask. Well, it's whatever was said right before that line - it's fairly obvious.

Shona Laing - (Glad I'm) Not A Kennedy
I actually prefer Soviet Snow as a song, but the video for it BITES. Besides, I like the reference, given how few Kennedys there are left.

Jacques Brel - Ne Me Quitte Pas
Jacques Brel was, quite simply, one of the greatest song writers of all time, in any language. While the most famous English translation of this song is called "If You Go Away," a far better one can be found here. However, the absolute desperation and desolation on Jacques' face in this video should give you enough meaning.
